The mission of the 30A Sisterhood of Sea Shul is to foster a
welcoming, vibrant, and inclusive community for Jewish
women and allies, dedicated to supporting Sea Shul,
promoting cultural and educational enrichment, and building
lasting friendships rooted in shared values and traditions.

The name of this organization shall be the 30A Sisterhood of Sea Shul.
The purpose of this Sisterhood is to:
Eligibility:
• Membership is open to any woman of the Jewish faith or those sympathetic to the faith, aged 18 or older, who is a member of Sea Shul or is considering membership.
• Membership is granted upon payment of dues and agreement with the Sisterhood’s mission and purpose.
Restrictions for Non-Sea Shul Members:
a. Cannot hold executive positions within the Sisterhood.
b. Cannot represent the Sisterhood at Sea Shul functions.
c. Membership is limited to two years unless an appeal for continued membership is approved by the Sisterhood Executive Committee.
Annual dues shall be determined by the 30A Sisterhood of Sea Shul Executive Committee.
The property, affairs, and business of the Sisterhood shall be overseen by the 30A Sisterhood Executive Committee.
Eligibility:
• Only members in good standing of Sea Shul and the 30A Sisterhood may hold leadership positions.
Initial Structure:
• Until membership reaches 50 paid members, officers shall include two Co-Chairs, a Communications Director, and a Treasurer.
Post-50 Membership Structure:
• Once 50 members is reached, elected officers shall include: President, Vice President, Secretary/Communications Director, and Treasurer.
Election Terms:
• Officers are elected annually in May and serve a term of one year.
Vacancies:
• Vacancies shall be filled by presidential appointment with majority approval of the Executive Committee for the remainder of the term.
Duties of Officers:
• President: Acts as the executive officer, presides over meetings, represents the Sisterhood on the Sea Shul Board of Trustees, and provides reports to the Executive Committee. Must be of the Jewish faith.
• Secretary: Maintains records of meetings and performs duties as directed by the President or Executive Committee.
• Treasurer: Manages financial affairs, maintains records, and provides regular financial reports.
Voting:
• Elections are held by written ballot when there are multiple candidates.
In matters not specifically covered by this constitution, the latest edition of Robert’s Rules of Order shall be followed.
• Annual dues may only be modified upon motion at an Executive Committee meeting and approved by a two-thirds majority of those present.
• Members who fail to pay dues by February 1st will be removed from the membership roster but may be reinstated upon payment.
• To remain in good standing, dues must be paid within 30 days of assessment.
Proposed amendments must be:
• Presented in writing at an Executive Committee meeting and entered into the minutes.
• Shared with all members via email or Sea Shul’s weekly newsletter at least 30 days before voting.
• Approved by a two-thirds majority of members present at the subsequent meeting.
Article 10 - Effective Date
Amendments to the by-laws are effective immediately upon adoption.
